Yes, card payment facilities include use of credit cards.

I am short of funds. Can I pay late?

Our policy is for payment to be made at the time of consultation. You can also pay online or over a phone.  For late payments you will be charged an administration fee of £10.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you need to cancel, we understand that life can be hectic sometimes. We ask that you cancel as soon as you become aware that you are unable to make your appointment in order to allow the opportunity for others to take your appointment slot. If you cancel your appointment less than 4 hours before your appointment a cancelation charge of £50 may be applied.

What if I do not cancel and do not come to the appointment?

If you do not cancel and do not come to your appointment you may experience difficulties booking your next appointment with us.

How much do you charge?

Our fees schedule can be viewed here. Whilst we endeavour to update this regularly there may be other charges which apply.

My friend is visiting from another city and is feeling unwell, can they make an appointment to see my regular doctor or a doctor at your clinic?

Yes

Can I bring other people with me when I see the GP?

Yes, of course we understand that you might feel more comfortable having someone with you.

Can two or more people use one appointment to see the Doctor?

No, when you arrange your appointment it is only for you, if you wish an appointment for another family member you must ask for another appointment to see the Doctor.

What happens if I am late for my appointment?

If you are late you will only be seen at the discretion of Doctor. If you are not seen you will need to re-book your appointment.

How much do I pay for my dental treatment?

After a check up your dentist will explain any problems you have and give you treatment options. We will also prepare a written estimate of cost if needed.

Will my dental treatment hurt?

Dentistry has come a long way in the last fifty years. Modern dentistry should be pain free and carried out in a relaxed and friendly environment. We use all the latest local anaesthetic techniques and solutions to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible. We spend time with all our patients, particularly children, using the ‘show, tell, do’ technique to desensitise patients who are anxious about needles.

Can I e-mail the practice concerning my medical conditions, or requesting information about my medical records?

We are generally unable to enter into any communications of a medical nature in order to protect patient confidentiality. For medico-legal reasons we require a signed consent by the patient in relation to any information held concerning their medical records.

What do I do if I need a repeat prescription?

If you have never had your regular medication prescribed by us before, you will need to book a doctor’s appointment to arrange ongoing repeat scripts. Please bring your medication, or a print out of your usual prescription, along to your first appointment. The doctor will then be able to arrange repeat prescriptions for your regular medications.Once this has been organised you will be able to request future prescriptions without having to see the doctor each time, although for longer terms you may need do see the doctor for your condition review usually every 3 months. You can request your next prescription by calling into the surgery in person; or making a request by post, enclosing a stamp addressed envelope in order for us to post your prescription back to you. We will need 24hrs notice to provide the prescription. After obtaining your script you can take it to any chemist, where they will dispense your medication. There is a charge of £30 for repeat prescription.

How do I access my medical records?

You are entitled to access most of the records the Practice holds on you (There are a few exceptions) The Practice makes a statutory charge of £10, as directed by the Data Protection Agency. Please contact the Practice Manager for details and to arrange an appointment to view records.If a Doctor writes a medical report for an outside Agency i.e Insurance Company, you are entitled to view the report before it is sent if you wish. Please note there is a time limit. Ask Practice Manager for details.When a Doctor writes a letter about you, you are entitled to a copy; discuss with the Doctor or Practice Manager.Please note: the Doctor will not divulge any information the Practice holds on you, to any other Agency, Organisation or Family, without your signed consent. You may discuss arrangements with the Practice Manager.

What information you keep about me and why?

Your doctor and other health professionals caring for you keep records about your health and any treatment and care you receive.These records help ensure that you receive the best possible care from us.They may be written down or held on a computer. The records may include:Basic details about you, such as address and next of kinContacts we have had with you, such as consultation detailsNotes and reports about your health and any treatment and care you needDetails and records about the treatment and care you receiveResults of investigations, such as x rays and laboratory testsRelevant information from other health professionals, relatives or those who care for you and know you well

Do you conform to Data Protection Act?

All our staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses. The Practice is computerised and patients' details are held on computer. We are therefore registered under the Data Protection Act 1998.

What is the patient's responsibility?

Your responsibilities:To treat all members of the Practice Team with curtesy and respectTo act on advice and take medication as prescribedInform the Practice if you change your name, address or telephone number. Be punctual for appointments. Cancel unwanted appointments. Order prescriptions in plenty of time, do not wait for your medication to run out.

Why does the receptionist ask me what I want to see the doctor for?

The receptionist asks patients to provide us with a basic only information prior to booking the appointment so that we can direct them to the appropriate service/confirm if we can help in your particular issue.

Why can't you give me information about a family member?

Whilst is it vital for the proper care of the individuals, it is also important that patients and their carers can trust that personal information will be kept confidential and their privacy respected.All staff have an obligation to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information. This is governed by law, their contracts of employment and in many cases, professional code of conduct. All staff are aware that a breach of confidentiality could be a matter for disciplinary action and provides grounds for a complaint against them.

Does my consultation fee include prescriptions?

All of our consultations include any private prescriptions that may be applicable. The clinic is also able to dispense certain medicine for a small fee should we stock that particular medication. Please be aware that all prescriptions are “Private” and do incur a fee at any pharmacy, though in most cases, they are cheaper than an NHS prescription.

Can I obtain a second opinion from you?

When you feel that your concerns are not being heard, or you simply can’t afford to wait, then our experienced GPs will happily take ownership of your health issues, ensuring complete continuity and advocacy throughout your diagnosis and treatment.

Can I register with you?

Yes. Simply call us and we will make an appointment for you to come in and be seen by a doctor or dentist.Before your first visit you will be asked to fill out a Registration Form as well as present a photo ID. Children below 16 must be assisted by parent or lawful carer. Please be aware we offer private healthcare services only.

I'm moving away to another area but I want to keep seeing my usual dentist/doctor, is this possible?

Yes, you can still see your usual dentist/doctor. Please keep your contact details at the practice up to date letting us know of any changes to your address and telephone numbers as soon as possible.
